1. Site Overview

Welcome to JoesList.net, a streamlined digital directory and advertising network designed for the open web. Our mission is to provide an efficient, non-intrusive platform for discovering digital resources and empowering website owners with free, effective advertising tools.

2. Accounts & Registration

To participate in our directory and advertising network, you must create a free account. During registration, you'll need to provide a valid email address. We use a secure Random Password System: once you register, an automated email will be sent to you containing a temporary, complex password. You can use this to log in and manage your account via the Dashboard.

3. Membership Levels

We offer different levels of access based on your account status. Higher levels provide increased capacity for listings and ads:

• Level 1 (Free): Up to 5 listings and 5 ads. Earns 1.5 credits per pageview.
• Level 2 (Premium): Up to 10 listings and 10 ads. Earns 2 credits per pageview.
• Level 3 (Platinum): Up to 25 listings and 25 ads. Earns 2.5 credits per pageview.

4. Directory Listings

A Directory Listing is a permanent entry in our categorized web directory. It's a powerful way to earn exposure and improve your site's discoverability. Listings are shown on the directory pages and are indexed for our internal search engine (as well as submitted to major search engines such as Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Yandex, and others).

• Moderation: All new and edited listings represent a 'Pending' status until reviewed by a moderator. This ensures the quality and relevance of our directory.
• Visibility: Once approved, your listing becomes 'Active' and visible to all users.
• Search: Our search engine uses full-text indexing. Relevance is calculated based on your title, description, and keywords.

5. The Advertising System

Our platform is built on the philosophy of Subtle Ads℠. We believe that advertising should be a value-add, not a distraction. Our ads are text-based, lightweight, and integrated seamlessly into the site design.

• The Network: Your ads are shown across our tiny but growing advertising network, which includes the pages of the JoesList.net directory and participating partner sites.
• Random Exposure: At least 5% of all advertising space is reserved for free, randomly selected ads from our active pool.
• No Intrusions: We strictly prohibit pop-ups, flashing banners, or auto-playing media. The user's attention is respected.

6. Impression Credit System

Impression Credits are the currency of our advertising network. They allow you to guarantee exposure for your ads beyond the random 5% pool.

• Earning: Show our ad network on your site to earn credits. Free users earn 1.5 credits per valid pageview.
• Maximum Balance: You can accumulate up to 2500 unassigned credits. Once you reach this limit, you must assign them to your ads to continue earning.
• Assignment: Credits assigned to an ad are 'spent' when that ad is displayed. You can manage assignments via the 'Edit Ad' page in your Dashboard.

7. Sponsor System

Help our community grow and earn rewards! By sharing your personal referral link (found in Account Settings), you can sponsor new users.

• Immediate Bonus: Receive a one-time bonus of up to 100 impression credits for every new user who registers through your link.
• Ongoing Earnings: You earn an additional 0.5 credits for every valid pageview generated by users you've sponsored.

• Anti-Spam: We have a zero-tolerance policy for spam. Violations result in account termination and potential cleanup fees.
• Honesty: We expect honesty in all listings and ads. Misleading or deceptive content is not permitted.
• Content Standards: No illegal material, harassment, or adult content (pornography) is permitted.
• Privacy: We do not sell your personal data. Cookies are used for session management and CAPTCHA functionality. Our listings and ads never use cookies, and our ad code is cookie-free.
